  • Classic Game Room reviews the Cabela’s TOP SHOT ELITE assault rifle gun accessory for Playstation 3 PS3 with the wireless sensor bar. The Top Shot Elite is a “light gun” style gun peripheral for video games like Cabela’s North American Adventures and Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011. It comes with a wireless sensor bar for PS3 and Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii version works with the Wiimote. From Cabela’s and Activision, the Top Shot Elite gun comes with Dangerous Hunts 2011 and works well with PS3 and Xbox 360. The Top Shot Elite and Sensor bar both use two AA batteries (all four included with Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011 and Top Shot Elite bundle). Top Shot Elite used in CGR reviews of Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2011 and Cabela’s North American Adventures for PS3 which are both shooting gallery style arcade games and have storyline / adventure modes.

  • Classic Game Room reviews BLOOD DRIVE for Playstation 3 PS3 video game console (also available for Xbox 360), a post-apocalyptic zombie-slaughtering automobile combat game. Drive cars straight outta Mad Max and Road Warrior in gladiator style duels against other rides and waves of zombies! Various arena style events like Zombie Roadkill, checkpoint races and “keep the skull” (or whatever it’s called) keep gameplay tight and ferocious albeit repetitive after a while. Controls take a bit of time to get used to but work well once mastered and the battlegrounds themselves are moderately interesting and chock full o’ zombies. This CGR review of Blood Drive has gameplay from Blood Drive in the review showing videogame game play of Blood Drive from Activision on PS3, also available for Xbox 360.

  • Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Section 8: Prejudice from TimeGate Studios, a downloadable FPS for the PlayStation 3. Section 8: Prejudice is also available for the Xbox 360. Section 8: Prejudice addresses one of the big shortcomings of the first Section 8 game, that being the lack of a campaign. In Prejudice, you get a full single-player mode complete with a story, trophies and boring levels. The game’s strongest asset is its sheer amount of content. Especially for a downloadable game, this is an impressive package. In addition to a campaign mode, the game also features several multiplayer modes, and once again, those are Section 8’s focus. But for all the game does well in terms of packing modes into a downloadable release, the gameplay isn’t quite as enthralling. This video review features video gameplay footage of Section 8: Prejudice for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek. • Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Warriors: Legends of Troy from Tecmo Koei for the PlayStation 3. Like God of War, Warriors: Legends of Troy is a hack-and-slash action game based on ancient mythology. The game retells the story of the Trojan War, including the abduction of Helen, the victorious Trojan Horse and all the bloodshed in between. Rest assured, there’s a lot of bloodshed in between. Warriors: Legends of Troy seems to have a much better chance of courting American audiences than Dynasty Warriors, but unfortunately, it isn’t any fun. You play each level as a different Greek or Trojan warrior. You’d think playing as different men from different armies might change the gameplay, but it doesn’t. This game is a quintessential hack-and-slash title, with each of its mythological warriors devout practitioners of the sacred combat style Square Buttonicus Mashicus. This video review features video gameplay footage of Warriors: Legends of Troy for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek. • Classic Game Room reviews HAL 21, a Playstation Mini for PS3 & PSP from SNK Playmore. This arcade SHMUPS style space ship shooter from SNK was released in 1985 and should appeal to fans of Namco’s Xevious. This insanely difficult vertical scrolling SHMUP space ship shooter on Playstation 3 (and PSP) has an old school “Xevious” style with basic weapons and bombs for ground targets. Enemy patterns are fast and erratic and players will need to memorize and shoot for points and extra lives to stay alive. Sadly HAL 21 does not have 2 player co-op gameplay, even though it says so on the screen. No two player coop gameplay in a space ship shooter!? Boo! Aside from that Hal 21 is a solid, affordable videogame with explosions, space ships and laser beams with ultra-challenging gameplay on PS3 and PSP.
