Seriously? We’re reviewing mortal kombat one again? I mean, if we do, do we really have to go over the history of the series? Don’t we all know? Does anyone not know?
You know what, I’m sorry. I’m being annoyed because I’m having a bad day. Ignore me.

i have tried so many times to like mortal kombat. i guess i got spoiled by having played street fighter 2 turbo first. it always felt like a huge step backwards, clunky and hellishly difficult.

@carniveron yeah they were realy just relying on the gore to sell it xD

@MrBateman85 he didnt get into the gameplay much, he basically said the reason why he loved the game was violence and that is not professional at all.

@GamerNinjaX So you’re saying that one of the pinnacle selling points of this game wasn’t violence and shouldn’t be incorporated into the review?

@1sayanbakshi Oh please god, no. He lost it after Super Mario Land. That and he is completely ignorant at anime/manga based games, even if they are bad.

“Sub-Zero and Scorpion, who are the same character with their colors changed.”
WRONG! Even in MKI, Sub-Zero and Scorpion are different characters. Their own set of moves (Scorpions’ Spear, Sub-Zero’s ice) and personalities determine that. If you’re going to go by that logic Ryan, then Kitana and Mileena (from Mortal Kombat II) are the same just because of color change.

GamerNinjaX said on January 19th, 2012 at 10:56 pm
@StoneBeezt2 no not at all, I was saying that he focused too much on the concept of blood and gore, while yes it was its main selling point and I am glad he talked about, its just that he barely even talked about the game itself. Catch my drift?

@GamerNinjaX … many ppl went to mk cuz of the gore. it’s not professionalism needed here, it was just the opinion of milions of ppl.

kiaelinkx said on January 19th, 2012 at 11:53 pm
@nintendoboy17 he meant they’re acted by the same actor…
-
nintendoboy17 said on January 20th, 2012 at 9:21 am
@kiaelinkx Still, he said “character.” Even if they are played by the same actor, they can still be entirely different characters.

You know I must admit, deadly alliance was my favorite. The way your combos rolled thru ur diff fight styles and u could move 360 and deception was good the same if I remember correctly but no shang tsun which pissed me off or his moves were diff

i used to hate the arcade version at the local arcade spot back in the day because the owner of the restaraunt owned the arcade and he would have it set up in very hard difficulty and you had to pay the 50 cents on top of that. finally the 1st player joystick was broken and u wernt able to back up , only go foward

@evildead818 Sounds like a loser arcade establishment.

carniveron said on January 21st, 2012 at 4:10 am
@blahmehblah1 in the sense that it’s a faster moving game. mortal kombat feels too slow. if you think that’s not accurate then i would venture a guess you’ve never played either.
-
Pentagram619 said on January 21st, 2012 at 7:56 am
@carniveron it is slow. Mainly because it wasnt meant to be a serious fighting game. Unlike the newer one, the original MK was there just to be fun

@carniveron Then you’d be venturing into a shitpit
