  • Classic Game Room HD – EINHANDER for Playstation review Pt2

    Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of EINHANDER for the Sony Playstation 1 (which means one hander in German). Is this the best game on the PS1? For that matter, is Einhander the best side scrolling shooter SHMUP ever made? As far as shmups go, Einhander is a maniac shooting game set in a 2d horizontal scrolling distopian future with the feel of Blade Runner. It uses 3d elements and pushed the PSX to its limits with incredible graphics, gameplay, sound and replay value. Einhander is a side scroller like Gradius III IV or V, Thunder Force or Life Force. But this game is different because it uses gunpods and the mechanized arm that controls them. It’s amazing and regarded by some as the best shooter ever made. It also has a light saber, homing missiles and a foxy announcer who teached you things in the training seminar. This game should be remade in 2008, 2009 or 2010 as a Playstation 3 PS3 game or something for Xbox Live Arcade. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes.     I play this game at least 10 times a year Greatest game ever… it’s just that fun and hard. It never gets easier.

    lol, i am officially a member of the “i suck at einhander” support group. i will never be able to beat the game on hard without using any continues, so i will never be able to unlock the selen :( i can’t even beat it on hard. at least i can beat it on medium difficulty.

    einhander was on of the best ps one games. The game is realy genius XD i played it for hours. And i’m now playing it on my psp

    I totally forgot I had this game.. After watching the review I remember all those bosses. Geez, it’s been over ten years since I played that game.

    Sadly, I only ever beat this game using a Gameshark, and I /still/ managed to die twice before it was all over.

    Einhander is one of the most fun and challenging games I’ve ever play! I love it! You can unlock two ships if you’re awesome at Einhander, and they’re called Schabe and Selene.

    actually you can only use 3 continues on hard to unlock Selen…i’ve done it already…beginning of level 4 will really test you though!!

    yeah!!! psp ftw. ds can suck it. the virtually unlimited potential of the psp due to the modding of the firmware, makes the psp the only choice for portable gaming cause it has the potential to do so much more. i got a bunch of nostalgia inducing psx games on my psp, including this one of course! :)

    Everytime a friend would mention side scroll shooters, i just have to break out Einhander and show them what side scrollers are all about.

    I think it’s cool how sometimes it will dip to the side to look 3D but still play 2D.

    I’ve seen it in vertical shooters like Silpheed on the Sega CD, and in Raycrisis on the PS1, and I’ve seen it done in the Nights games, but I’ve never seen it in a horizontal game before I saw this game.

    It would be cool if they ever make Zweihander if the whole game were like that, and then Konami made a new Axeley game with Vertical sections like Silpheed, and Horizontal sections like Zweihander.

    One of the best games in the PS. I only had the demo of it, but that one level I got to play was Awesome in it self.

    I made this game my hoe i destroyed this game i really did i rented it froma shop one day and played the hell out of it destroyed it. It was easy for me though.
