PS3 has more cpu power, XBOX360 has more ram. Without getting into the tech too much, it means textures on the PS3 can look less sharp and a bit washed out. You need to make more use of the extreme ramspeeds and cpupower. You can most likely make both games look better, but it would take time, especially for the PS3. Which costs money.
The Cell is just a complicated cpu. If you don’t believe me, get a WinFast PxVC1100 (Google it) and get the IBM SDK for it.

The game graphics look like crap on both platforms. But on the PS3 slightly more crappy.

For starters the Xbox360 is running at 720p the ps3 version is running in 576p, your tv has to do more scaling. / textures are lower resolution etc….

…You’re saying that the PS3 version runs in SD?
Why would they do that? -
ds4081 said on June 18th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
480p is SD, They did it because they are lazy and didn’t want to spend to much time customizing the game for the ps3 (this is all a guess, other than the resolution). The 360 is much easier to program for, and has a nicer Graphics processor. They could have spent a few more months on the ps3 port and got it up to par.

The PS3 version was supposedly not the port though. The devs stated the PS3 was the lead platform that they spent the most time on. Judging by the results I’m not sure.

Developers needs to start learning how to use the ps3 cell broadband engine properly, PS3 can handle more then that!!

ITS CALLED HAVING A BAD DEVELOPMENT TEAM!! if they knew how to work with the PS3 none of this would have happened, they suck and besides we have all seen games that look 989989898989898 times better than this shit
-
DashTH said on June 18th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
That’s really not saying much, the PS3 version only clocks in at about 30-40fps at it’s best. The engine they’ve built this game on is fucking awful.

karambiatos said on June 19th, 2009 at 9:32 am

You can see clearly that the xbox 360 version is better.

I don’t own either of the platforms, but I think the xbox looks a little better but a little darker…

I have both, but I got it for the PS3 since I won’t sign up for Live again until November. As far as the comparisons, it’s the same as usual. XBOX has a sharper resolution, that’s all. And a few extra details.

steppyvann said on June 20th, 2009 at 12:56 am
OH really? Do tell how it looks “clearly” better?
-
sadisticsob said on June 20th, 2009 at 1:28 am
they had to use some soft effect on ps3 because of the lack of anti aliasing. They used it in dmc4 as well, however Capcom knows how to make graphics look good on anything. Just look at RE on the Gamecube.

The simple fact of the matter is that the PS3 is really tough to develop games for, which is why inexperienced developers merely port over the 360 version of most games and apply a few filters due to the PS3’s lack of AA. Look at exclusives like Uncharted, MGS4 and Killzone 2, though, and you will see what a well made PS3 game can look like.
