this is cool because they are coming out with a dvr for ps3 then u can use this to edit your gameplay and use the playstation to make videos then edit.

Wow so in the future we can upload any gameplays and just edit it and load it up on youtube just from your PS3? Like when I got a bunch of sick highlights from NBA 2K11 I can make a montage of it?

this is a pretty nice feature. i tested it out with a video of my own, and for me it seems pretty easy and simple to use. i haven’t milked it for all it’s worth yet though and i haven’t uploaded any videos with either. but just from my little experiment with it, i’m actually impressed sony.

can you record with playstation eye and edit it with this?
-
E4GTV said on July 5th, 2010 at 5:21 pm
@ccastillo2413 Yes you can, you have to put the video on a flash drive and then put it back on the PlayStation 3.

@E4GTV How do I delete the application and re-download it?
-

@tdub731 Ah never mind I thought you could. Have you tried using different video footage that was put on after you updated the firmware?

This new feature would be really useful if you could change the output video bitrate to higher or lower than 2Mbps, and the resolution again higher or lower.

is it somehow possible to add videos that are on a DVD, that was recorded ? I recorded stuff in a DVD and isn’t it possible to use this feature ?
-
E4GTV said on July 13th, 2010 at 7:05 pm
@PersiaTeddy95 All depends if the footage is copy right protected. If it is, then no.
-
E4GTV said on July 13th, 2010 at 7:05 pm
@johnny123able You can not record using this feature, you need a capture card.
-
PersiaTeddy95 said on July 13th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
@E4GTV No, it is not. I recorded gameplay with a DVD recorder. The gameplay is in the DVD.

E4GTV said on July 13th, 2010 at 7:15 pm
@PersiaTeddy95 Ah, I see what you mean. Unless it is a DVD that can be explored/copied to the PlayStation 3, then you can not use it. To further explain this, If the DVD you created isn’t a DVD Video file (Like all the major DVD movies are now a days…) you will be able to use it. But you have to copy the file over to the PlayStation 3. Hope this helps!

@E4GTV And how is that
I used a DVD-R or maybe there’s a special DVD that it might work with. Or is there a way to copy the files when the DVD is in the PS3 ? What I’d like to do is not using a PC to get the video file, which right now I’m unable to do… -
E4GTV said on July 13th, 2010 at 8:25 pm
@PersiaTeddy95 The only possible way to do that is if you made the DVD-R act like a flash drive. Meaning you didn’t convert the video file at all, you just dragged and dropped it to the DVD burner application and then clicked on burn. If that is the case, all you need to do is go over the DVD icon and press Triangle and then press on Show All and then the video should be there. If not, you need the PC then.
