TNK III review for Playstation 3. Classic Game Room reviews TNK III, a Playstation Mini published by SNK Playmore for Playstation 3 and PSP game systems. TNK III is the prequel to Iron Tank on the NES and plays much like the popular Ikari Warriors. Players control their tank with the d-pad (or analog stick) which machine guns bad guys in the direction that the tank is pointing. The powerful tank gun turret was originally controlled by a rotational joystick in the arcades, but instead gets the L1 R1 treatment which is a bit awkward. TNK III gameplay is fun and reminiscent of classics such as Ikari Warriors and Commando. Power up your gun turret but don’t get destroyed, TNK III can be unforgiving without a powerful TANK! This CGR TNK III video review has TNK III game play on PS3. TNK III was called TANK (or TANK) for old school computer system releases.

One download from Playstation network will put the arcade quality Vanguard on your Playstation 3 and Sony PSP. Vanguard is one of the original SHMUP video games. Originally released in 1981 to the arcades Vanguard combines top down vertical scrolling shooting with 2D horizontally scrolling shooter sections. Vanguard won over countless fans with its Atari 2600 port and excellent Atari 5200 version (sadly the controls were terrible). The PS3 version of Vanguard is true to the original, old school and fun. Classic Game Room reviews HAL 21, a Playstation Mini for PS3 & PSP from SNK Playmore. This arcade SHMUPS style space ship shooter from SNK was released in 1985 and should appeal to fans of Namco’s Xevious. This insanely difficult vertical scrolling SHMUP space ship shooter on Playstation 3 (and PSP) has an old school “Xevious” style with basic weapons and bombs for ground targets. Enemy patterns are fast and erratic and players will need to memorize and shoot for points and extra lives to stay alive. Sadly HAL 21 does not have 2 player co-op gameplay, even though it says so on the screen. No two player coop gameplay in a space ship shooter!? Boo! Aside from that Hal 21 is a solid, affordable videogame with explosions, space ships and laser beams with ultra-challenging gameplay on PS3 and PSP.

BUBBLES video game review. Classic Game Room reviews BUBBLES, a 1982 arcade game from Williams. This version of Bubbles is being played from the Williams Greatest Hits collection which was released for the original Playstation. This PS1 collection contains six games from Williams: Bubbles, Defender, Defender II, Sinistar, Joust and Robotron 2084. Bubbles plays like a free-roam Pac Man on ice, You control the bubble with (preferably) a joystick controller as he cleans up dirt and ants in a sink, but watch out for spiders and razor blades!
