This free BETA version of Home allows you to create a Playstation avatar and rearrange furniture in your apartment. This CGRHD Playstation 3 Home review has gameplay footage of Home, which is like Second Life except without the ability to really do anything… although I haven’t played Second Life, since I’m usually busy living my first life. And playing video games. Anyway, Home is a like a 2nd life that you can lead and run around the center square courtyard area, meet other Playstation gamers from around the world, dance, insult people, play mini-games, go bowling, shop, use flamethrowers (just kidding), watch game and Sony-owned movie trailers and basically interact with the PS3 community. Where is trophy support? Where are the commands like jump, punch, kick and steal cars? Home shows great promise, and it’s a free Beta so you can’t fault them for it not being perfect. Classic Game Room loves, no LOVES the bowling alley in Home and the arcade games in there. CGRHD strikes up conversations with a few people around the globe, annoys the crap out of others and is a general, all around nuisanse. But CGRHD specializes in being obnoxious because it makes for better video game reviews, and this review of Home for the Playstation Network should be fairly entertaining. Classic Game Room HD reviews PLAYSTATION HOME for August 2010 with the Star Wars Cantina Bar location and new 30th anniversary The Empire Strikes Back outfits available in the LucasArts store in the Playstation Home Mall. Dress up as Lando, Bossk, Chewbacca, C3PO, an AT-AT Driver, the Snow Stormtrooper and more. Most outfits run a few bucks but the Cantina Bar on Mos Eisley is free (but dry as a desert). Also reviewed is the PS Home Playstation Boombox available at the Playground which plays music in your Home apartment or personal space. Sometimes your invited friends can hear the music too! Playstation Home is a free area for PS3 owners who want to run around and meet people, although it’s best experienced with friends and a few add-ons. This CGR review of Playstation Home on PS3 has gameplay footage showing game play (if you can call it that) of the Star Wars outfits like Bossk and the Hoth Snow Stormtrooper from The Empire Stikes Back.

Classic Game Room HD reviews TEKKEN 6 from Namco Bandai from 2009 for Xbox 360 (also available for Playstation 3 PS3). This CGR review of Tekken 6 has gameplay from Tekken 6 on Xbox 360 showing Tekken 6 game play (PS3 looks the same). This awesome fighting game for the 360 and PS3 has 40 playable characters that you can dress up in wild outfits with credits won during gameplay. Fight as men, women, androids, bears and other weirdos in Tekken 6! Stunning high def visuals and digital surround sound immerse players in one of the most exciting fighting games for this generation. Classic Game Room HD reviews PLAYSTATION HOME for PS3 in March 2010 showing the changes and improvements (maybe) over February 2010. What’s changed? Well I bought a Dark Lord outfit which is the closest thing they have to a real Darth Vader costume. In the second CGR Home Invasion Classic Game Room wanders around looking for changes in the courtyard and in the Home Mall. CGR visits viewers’ apartments too like the Batman Arkham Asylum Playstation Home space filled with neat stuff like a Batmobile that you can’t drive. You can fill your apartment or space with special game add-ons like a Tekken 6 arcade machine.

Classic Game Room HD reviews HAMSTER BALL for Playstation 3 PS3, a similar game to the popular Super Monkey Ball series. Hamster Ball packs awesome, fast paced HD visuals and some crushing boards that will send numerous hamsters plummeting into the depths of wherever. Hate hamsters? You’ll love Hamster Ball. Some trial and error is required to meander through mazes that come straight out of Dr. Seuss-land. Numerous boards invite you to compete for the fastest time and push your hamster to the limits. From publisher Tik-Creat, Hamster Ball is a clever look at the Monkey Ball style of gameplay which works well with the PS3 controller’s dual analog sticks.

Classic Game Room HD reviews DIG DUG for Playstation 3 PS3, part of the Namco Museum Essentials collection downloadable from the Playstation Network for PS3. This version of Dig Dug looks sharp, sounds good and plays like Dig Dug should play. There’s no messing with the classic, this is Dig Dug presented in its true arcade form. Solid gameplay as you dig through the levels and drop boulders on enemis like Fygars. Namco Museum Essentials comes with six games: Dig Dug, Xevious, Pac Man, Galaga, Dragon Spirit and Xevious Resurrection. Dig Dug has unlockable prizes for Playstation Home and trophies for PS3. This CGR review of Namco’s 1982 classic re-release Dig Dug on Playstation 3 has Dig Dug gameplay from PS3 in HD showing classic, retro, arcade style coin-op Dig Dug video game play in action. You can unlock the Dig Dug arcade cabinet for Playstation Home with the Dig Dug trial version (which is free).

Classic Game Room HD reviews XEVIOUS RESURRECTION for Playstation 3 PS3 from the Namco Museum Essentials collection which can be downloaded from Playstation Network. This remake of the original arcade Xevious has flashy HD visuals, thumping music and new challenges. Xevious Resurrection is a vertical scrolling SHMUP for PS3 Playstation 3 and players can unlock trophies and a Xevious Resurrection arcade cabinet machine for their Playstation Home. This CGR review of Xevious Resurrection can be played one player or two player co-op. Review has Xevious Resurrection gameplay on PS3 showing Namco’s Xevious Resurrection game play in action.
