The RidgeRacer series from Namco has been a classic arcade driving video game for years. In this seventh installment you drift and slide your way to nitrous oxide nitro boosting your car into warp speed to defeat your opponents in all kinds of crazy races. Collect cars, earn fake money and play this game at your own risk. Classic Game Room didn’t care for it and that’s a shame because CGRHD likes most racing games. Why didn’t we like it? Well, that’s kind of obvious. “AWESOME, YOU’RE SLIPSTREAMING!” Yes, the voice dialog is back seat driving at its worst. The graphics are sub par for a PS3 title and as this review shows the gameplay is lacking. If you want to play some great arcade style racing games check out Hydro Thunder and Fatal Interia!! But if you really want to drive cars then you neded to play Gran Turismo, Forza or Test Drive. RR7 wasn’t our cup of beer, but that doesn’t mean you won’t like it. Classic Game Room HD reviews TEKKEN 3 for PS1 from Namco, released in 1998 for the Playstation 1. Tekken 3 has some improvements and new characters over Tekken 2 and refines the game slightly, but does it perfect perfection? Pretty much as far as CGR is concerned. This 3rd installment in the Tekken series is regarded as one of the best Playstation 1 fighting games on PSone (PSX) with 3D styled characters beating the crap out of each other. Complex button combos make for a challenging game as Tekken 3 contains numerous gameplay modes including the arcade mode, survival and Tekken Force mode which is like Streets of Rage with Tekken characters. Classic Game Room HD reviews XEVIOUS RESURRECTION for Playstation 3 PS3 from the Namco Museum Essentials collection which can be downloaded from Playstation Network. This remake of the original arcade Xevious has flashy HD visuals, thumping music and new challenges. Xevious Resurrection is a vertical scrolling SHMUP for PS3 Playstation 3 and players can unlock trophies and a Xevious Resurrection arcade cabinet machine for their Playstation Home.
